Farmersville’s Got Talent Rules

Welcome to Farmersville’s Got Talent! Below are the rules and guidelines for participation:

Eligibility

  • Participants can be from anywhere, not just Farmersville.

  • Minimum age: 18 years old.

Mandatory Attendance

Participants selected for the show must attend the following events:

  1. Tech Night: April 11

  2. Show Night: April 12 (participants must stay for the entire performance).

Performance Guidelines

  • Maximum performance time: 3 minutes.

  • No bands are allowed.

  • Performances must not contain foul language or adult content.

  • Props: Bring your props to auditions, Tech Night, and Show Night. Crew will be available to assist with setup.

  • Music: MP3 music files (no CDs) and headshot. These must be submitted at least two days before auditions. Send yo gwen@fineartsonmain.com, subject line (your name)

  • Backstage: Guests are not allowed backstage. Guests must purchase tickets to attend the show.

Facility Information

  • Stage: Painted wood.

  • Amenities: Complete sound system, lighting, backstage bathroom, and water backstage.

Judging Criteria

1. Performance Quality (30 points)

  • Stage Presence (10 points): Confidence, connection with the audience, and overall charisma on stage.

  • Energy and Engagement (10 points): Enthusiasm, passion, and ability to captivate the audience throughout the performance.

  • Professionalism (10 points): Preparedness, time management, and seamless execution of the act.

2. Skill Level (30 points)

  • Technical Ability (15 points): Mastery of the chosen skill or talent demonstrated in the performance.

  • Creativity and Originality (15 points): Unique approach, innovation, and effort in creating something memorable and distinct.

3. Entertainment Value (20 points)

  • Audience Appeal (10 points): Level of enjoyment and emotional connection felt by the audience.

  • Wow Factor (10 points): Special moments or elements that set the performance apart and leave a lasting impression.

4. Artistic Expression (10 points)

  • Authenticity and Passion (5 points): Personal style and genuine expression of the performer’s talent.

  • Emotional Impact (5 points): Ability to evoke emotions and tell a story through the act.

Scoring

Judges will score each category out of the allocated points. The total score will determine the ranking, with the highest overall score winning.

  • Tiebreaker: In case of a tie, the "Entertainment Value" category will decide the winner.

Judges

  • Audition judges and show judges will be completely different.

Disqualification

Fine Arts on Main reserves the rights to disqualify any contestant for not following the rules.
